Winter Choral Workshop 2.0

9:00 – Emergency Anthems – Christopher Bowling

If you have ever needed a quick choir anthem, this presentation is for you. Christopher Bowling will present some techniques for manufacturing instant anthems and will also offer suggestions on easy literature. Mr. Bowling is the Director of Music and Worship Arts at Church of the Master in Westerville. He is also on staff at Stanton’s Sheet Music in Columbus.

10:00 – Basic Vocal Production – Gayle Walker

Whether you have conducted choirs for years or are relatively new to the job, you will appreciate this presentation. As Director of Choirs at Otterbein University, Dr. Walker has a wealth of experience in getting the best out of both college and volunteer choirs. She will discuss vocal production and effective warm up techniques.

11:00 – Conducting from the Console – Mark Pinnick

Conducting from the console presents a multitude of challenges. Mark Pinnick will offer his insights and demonstrate techniques that make those challenges less daunting. Mr. Pinnick is the Cantor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Zanesville, and he is active in both the AGO and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.

Parking is in the lot west of the church, and the entrance is through the Parish Hall door just east of the sanctuary
