Seeking Part Time Organist/Accompanist

Dublin Community Church, United Church of Christ is located in historic Dublin, Ohio. We are a vibrant progressive, God-and Christ-centered church community with regular worship on Sunday at 10 a.m. Our facilities include a large beautiful sanctuary with a 30 rank, 2000 pipe Schantz pipe organ, and the historic Gladden Chapel with a 10 rank, 600 pipe Schantz pipe organ. Our pianos include a 6’ Steinway Grand Piano in our Sanctuary and Yamaha baby grand in our chapel. Our music program includes an adult chancel choir, Sunday School Children’s choir, children’s bell choir, Gladden Ringers bell choir, Gladden Strummers guitar group, and other occasional ensembles and soloists.

Job Summary

The Church Organist/Accompanist is responsible to play music for the 10:00 Sunday worship and other special services on organ and/or piano including: leading the congregation on hymns, providing service music such as offertory, prelude and postlude and accompanying the chancel choir and other soloists or ensembles as needed. The organ/accompanist is also responsible for rehearsing with the Chancel Choir at their weekly rehearsals. The salary range is $15,000 - $17,000.

Qualifications.

• Demonstrate proficiency in both organ and piano
• Ability to accompany both choral groups and congregational singing.
• Awareness of and a willingness to play, a variety of types of musical styles.
• Ability to sight-read.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
